our story

Two best friends on a mission to point people to Jesus, The One who heals. We also provide practical tools (we call "Vehicles") which help transform your days and lead to Healthy Living- Spirit, Soul & Body.

God saying, I will fulfill my promise… I know the plans I have for you….when you call upon me I will hear you, when you SEEK me with all of your heart, I will be found, I will restore your fortunes…

Muneyi and I draw many comparisons between God's Word to the Israelites and God's Word to our own personal story, extending into our story of friendship.

Jeremiah 29:10-14 is the story of Israel's 70 years of captivity in Babylon…

written by Julie

Before Muneyi and I ever met, she went through the death of her husband in 2011 and I went through the loss of mine through divorce in 2008. The pain and suffering was intense, but God was always present.

I would get into negative cycles of behavior, which would lead to despair and depression. I couldn't manage all the things!! God kept reminding me of simple things to do when I repeatedly cried out to Him. It was always- "Pray first, then write out a plan." One day, after another tear-filled plea for help to God, I heard in my spirit- "Get a Planner!" I did and began to see the tremendous benefit, but unfortunately, I would fall out of using it. I never could develop a true habit of using it.

God was patient, he would remind me over and over, "Write it down." Write it out; get it out of your mind! FlyLady was also a significant inspiration that I felt the Lord kept bringing me back to. She is all about routines. A basic morning and evening routine was essential for me. When I stuck with those- how I felt and how the rest of my day went was a dramatic, positive shift- from something as simple as following my routines. I couldn't deny the impact. I became a believer over years of trial and failure, falling off and getting back on again with my routines.

In 2015, at that season in our lives, we were both feeling alone, despite already having good friends. There is something about being a single mom that can be isolating. We were both SEEKING God and calling out to him with a specific prayer in our heart, "God, I need a friend."

We come from very different backgrounds- Muneyi from a poor village in Zimbabwe and me from a middle-class suburb in St. Louis, Missouri. We couldn't look more different, but yet we are true sisters.

We first met in a church in May 2016. There was an instant connection and we soon discovered that we had quite a lot in common after hours on the phone and taking a road trip together.

We could feel our friendship really flourishing. Fast forward to New Year's Eve of 2016, we felt God impress this verse on our hearts as together we worked on writing Muneyi's condensed biography for a book contest. Isaiah 43:19 "Behold, I am doing a new thing, now it springs forth, do you not perceive it? I will make a way in the wilderness and rivers in the desert." It was undeniable- we both knew it, God was calling us both into something… something exciting!

Well, Muneyi didn't win the contest, but that verse never left our hearts, year after year God would remind us of it through many different avenues.

God-given passion?  Gulp.

She said, it was my "God-given passion".  I knew in that moment, without a doubt, that I needed to really think about what that meant.

Muneyi called out my passion for Spirit, Soul and Body TOGETHER health.

It was in 2018...

Does that mean I need to do something with this passion besides just be interested in it?  Gulp. I better pray about this! HealThy Living begins...

Fast forward again 3 years, Muneyi and I realize that WE are meant to be partners in HealThy Living (TOGETHER).

I had been searching high and low for a partner and nothing was working out. Then a light-bulb- it's you, my friend! We both knew it and laughed so hard at how blind we had been. HealThy Living started to take on a new shape- beyond just the planner that I was creating independently.

Much soul healing and spirit growing, and body healing of our own transpired between 2018 till 2022 when we really began TOGETHER to harness the vision and create rhythms and routines of seeking God and his wisdom in how HealThy Living was to come to fruition.

Statement of Faith

We believe that there is one true God who is the eternal King, Creator, and Redeemer of all that exists. He is perfectly holy, just, loving, and full of absolute truth. He has revealed Himself to be eternally self-existent – one being in three persons: God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit.

We believe that the Bible is the inspired and only infallible and authoritative Word of God.

We believe that humankind was created in the image of God to deeply know and enjoy Him, yet man willfully rejected the Lordship and glory of God for which we were intended. Because of this, sickness, death, and judgment entered the world, and now creation experiences the effects and consequences of sin. We believe the Son of God, Jesus Christ, willingly offered once and for all the one supreme sacrifice for the sins of the world—a perfect sacrifice through which He has made us perfectly holy and complete in justification, sanctification, and glorification. Salvation is found in His name alone, for there is no one else who has the power to save us; there is no other name by which people can be eternally saved from sin and death, and restored to relationship with a perfect God. We believe that personal repentance, faith in Jesus Christ, and the work of the Holy Spirit are absolutely essential for the eternal salvation of sinful, lost humans. (John. 1:12; Johnn. 3:16; Acts 17:30; 2 Peter. 3:9; Ephesians. 1:7–8; Ephesians. 2:8–9; 1 Corinthians. 15:20–22; 2 Corinthians. 5:17–21; Romans. 6:23; Hebrews. 10:1–18; 1 John. 5:11–13)

We believe that the Lord Jesus Christ, the one and only Son of God, was conceived by the Holy Spirit, born of the virgin Mary, and is God’s Anointed One, empowered by the Holy Spirit to bring God’s kingdom on earth. He was crucified for our sins, died, was buried, resurrected, and ascended into heaven, and is now alive today in the presence of God the Father and His people. He is fully God and fully man.

We believe that we are saved by God’s grace, through faith in the person and work of Jesus Christ. Anyone can be restored to fellowship with God by repenting, believing, and receiving Jesus as their Savior and Lord. The Holy Spirit convicts, regenerates, justifies, sanctifies, and adopts us as we enter the kingdom of God as His sons and daughters. Romans 6:11 says we are in “unbroken fellowship with Him”…our regenerated spirit is in fellowship with God. His love manifests into our wounded souls, offering his grace for healing.

The baptism of the Holy Spirit, according to Acts 1:4-8 and 2:4, is poured out on believers, that they might have God’s power to be His witnesses. We believe in the Holy Spirit, who is fully divine and proceeds from the Father and the Son, co-equal and co-eternal with the Godhead; his full participation in the activity of the Godhead, from creation to salvation-history to the consummation of all things; his present, ongoing ministry through God’s people after having been given to the church at Pentecost; his indwelling and empowering of Christians, enabling them to live a life of godliness and effective service for Christ. (John 14:15–27; John. 16:7–15; Romans. 8:1–27; Galatians. 4:16–26)

We believe the victorious, redemptive work of Christ on the cross provides freedom from the power of the enemy – sin, lies, sickness, and torment. It is our goal as believers to unwrap, explore, and grow in the revelation of that finished work of the cross.

We believe that the Church consists of all who put their faith in Jesus Christ. The Church exists to carry on the ministry of Jesus Christ and further advance His kingdom by undoing the works of the enemy, preaching and living the good news of God’s love, and discipling the nations – baptizing and teaching them God’s love and in turn, how to love and obey God. (Ephesians 4)

We believe that God’s love is unconditional and that we are transformed as we experience and encounter that love. We do not believe that truth is meant to be known merely logically and conceptually but experientially, intimately, and deep within each person's heart.

We believe that God has an unfailing love, forgives and provides sufficient grace for all of His people. (2 Corinthians 12:9)

We believe in the Blessed Hope, which is the glorious, visible return of the Lord Jesus Christ to rule and reign with His overcoming bride – the Church. (Titus 2:13)

We believe that our beliefs govern our lives. If we can encounter God’s love, grab hold of truth, and affect our belief systems, then we can live transformed and truly free. For whom the son sets free is free indeed!  (John 8:36)
